Consumer guide & disclosure statement
Who we are, what we're registered to do, and what you're entitled to expect from us.
Our registration
AusWide Immigration operates under Migration Agents Registration Number (MARN) 2619475. In Australia, only a registered migration agent may lawfully provide immigration assistance for a fee. You can view our entry on the Office of the MARA public register free of charge, and search the register for any other agent you are considering.
We are a migration agency, not a law practice
We are registered migration agents. We are not immigration lawyers, and we do not provide legal advice. Registered migration agents are authorised to provide immigration assistance, which includes assessing eligibility, preparing and lodging visa applications, and representing clients before the Administrative Review Tribunal. If your matter requires legal advice or court proceedings, we will tell you and help you find appropriate assistance.
The Code of Conduct
As registered migration agents we are bound by the Migration Agents Code of Conduct. Among other things, the Code requires us to:
- Act in your lawful best interests and deal with you fairly and honestly
- Have sound working knowledge of migration law and procedure
- Give you a written statement of services and fees before we start work
- Keep you informed of the progress of your matter
- Maintain confidentiality and handle your documents properly
- Hold professional indemnity insurance
- Complete continuing professional development each year
- Not make false or misleading statements about the prospects of an application
What we will not do
- We will not guarantee a visa outcome. No agent can. Decisions are made by delegates of the Minister applying the law to the evidence before them.
- We will not lodge anything we know to be false or misleading. Providing false documents or information can lead to refusal and an exclusion period.
- We will not begin chargeable work before you have received and accepted a written quote.
Fees and charges
Our professional fees are separate from Department of Home Affairs application charges, skills assessment fees, English testing fees, medical costs, translation costs and any other third-party charges. You will receive a written statement of services setting out what is included, what is not, and what each item costs, before any chargeable work begins.
Your file and your documents
You are entitled to a copy of the documents on your file, and to request the return of your original documents at any time. If you decide to change agents, we will facilitate the handover.
If you have a concern
Please raise it with us first. Contact Auswideinternational@gmail.com or call +61 412 774 335. We take complaints seriously and will respond promptly.
If your concern is not resolved, you may make a complaint about a registered migration agent to the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority. Details of the complaints process are available at mara.gov.au.
Beware of unregistered advisers
Unregistered people who charge for immigration assistance are operating unlawfully, and you have very limited recourse if something goes wrong. Before paying anyone for migration help, including anyone claiming to have contacts inside the Department, check their MARN on the public register. If they do not have one, walk away.
